Strongly disagree, they are very good in my opinion, I drive rental cars on a weekly basis so I see a lot of cameras.

My backup camera seems to be better than my daughters backup camera on her 2019 SR5. As for the bendy yellow line i backup and park perfectly every time, also backing out of my driveway the lines are spot on accurate bc my driveway has a sharp curve and i miss the grass every time.
These cameras remind me of the backup cams on Lexus cars compared to GM/Ford backup cams they are leaps and bounds better.
How did yall get the yellow back up lines to bend? Mine are solid and dont move. Then there are some blue ones that have more lines but also dont move

either calibration issue or straight up driver error
I guess it would have been driver error if I backed into a telephone pole, but that’s what mirrors are for, can’t blindly trust technology

Wow, that is not great! Weird
I seem to recall there's a big section of the manual describing all the potential blind spots (or really, blind areas not spots). There's only so much you can display when you only have 4 cameras somewhere in the middle area of each side of a rectangle to cover 360* and non of those cameras has a 180* field of view. It's not a toyota issue, it's an optics issue. The field of view for each camera is a cone (or triangle) not a semi-circle.

Here's a crappy drawing I threw together to make the point. I'm guessing on the camera field of view (blue triangles) but it's probably close. The area in yellow represents the blind "area" when the 4 cameras are stitched together. Notice that the obstacle (green diamond) would be visible with the vehicle in the drawing, but as it backs up, the obstacle will fall into the blind area and disappear.

Mine is the base SR5 nothing but a reverse camera. The blue solid lines are rock solid but if I follow the yellow lines that curve, I will take out the cars next to me. Could be my tires and lift but I doubt it.

I came from a 2013 Tacoma (stupid camera screen in the rear view mirror), and also own a 5th gen 4Runner.

The 6th gen reverse camera is awesome.

I dont know if it started working or I just didnt pay attention but my yellow lines curve. Guess there are 3 options on the screen when you go into reverse. Same boat as you as I have only had mine a couple weeks as well
