To turn off the annoying chime when you haven't fasetened your belt. It's dangerous b/c I haven't used my seat belts even on the highway as I forget!

Re: Seat Buzzers-That's odd, they are there for my ‘25 6G 4R?
Yeah, he is saying it is for 4Runners that were built July '26 and on that it isn't showing.

have to see if this version adds back in the seat buzzer option on july-2026 and newer 4R's since those options are on longer available in the app.

june-2026 and older you can still turn the seat buzzers off though.

Yeah, can confirm that the seat belt functions are not there for my 4Runner either. Wish I had found this thread before I bought the subscription.

You can get a refund on it. I bought because of the ability to turn off the seat belt ding. Support told me to request the refund through Apple. They prorated the refund for me.

Forgetting to put your seatbelt on without a loud buzzing sound is slightly concerning....

been doing seatbelts since the 80s so at this point is muscle memory.

being a friend of an emt and the horror stories of seeing people bounce off a tree and back into the vehicle and what not was enough to drill into me to wear a seatbelt.

that one story where the person went thru the windshield and practically bounced off the tree and back into the vehicle was gruesome enough for me.

i made sure the kids and wife was ingrained to wear a seatbelt no matter what, regardless of beep or not.

and yeah i would get the "aw dad" spiel and i wouldnt budge on it. its not really that much of an inconvenience to put on and since now you can adjust them up/down for comfort, i dont see why you cant wear them.

I don't dispute that seatbelts save lives, and I respect your experience. I also believe children should be taught their benefits. But there are other considerations. I've personally had a chest tube, and wearing a shoulder belt contributed to tearing the sutures securing it. So it's not always as simple as just putting one on.

I generally wear a seatbelt myself, but I believe adults should have some autonomy in assessing and accepting personal risks. I also question whether government should mandate their use and require manufacturers to provide persistent warnings that owners can't readily disable. Recognizing the benefits of something doesn't necessarily mean believing it should be compulsory.

I always wear my seatbelt when driving but the fact that if you take your seatbelt off while pulling into the garage causes the chime to keep going off forever, even after you place the vehicle in park is insane. Or the chiming when you start the car with the nerve to not have fastened your seatbelt before starting the car. The whole idea is dumb. I want to eliminate these things and I could care less if it alarmed while I drive down the road without a seatbelt.

yes there are exceptions to the rule, but most of the time normal usage should be worn.

when my wife had 1 knee replacement surgery @ 52 (she actually has lost her minicus on both knees), she laid down in the back seat of the tundra. i put some blankets down and brought some pillows. i did a slow drive back 5 mph below speed limit to insure i wasnt in a hurry and everyone passed me (i didnt give 2 shites about people being annoyed by my speed)

that wasnt ideal but it was the best we could do for the long drive back from bismarck to minot (110 miles and took about 2hrs to drive back home)

yeah the 4runner is pretty aggressive on the seat belt chime. worse than our 23 tundra.

luckily i was able to turn off the chimes in the 25 4runner (but then again i am the only person driving the 25, we always take the 26 when we both go out together), but man, its super annoying and agressive in the 6th gen.

I'll have to say that the warning does work. I put my seatbelt on really quick when I'm annoyed. I know you can get those seatbelt extensions to plug into the stock one. Not sure if I want to try that though.

I don’t need something beeping to remind me to put my seatbelt on, it’s muscle memory & automatic. Now I would not shut off the passenger or rear seat reminders.

I’m an EMT and police officer, take my word for it…you don’t want to be in a crash without your seatbelt on!

check the pics for real examples why—>

Well I can confirm that you are stuck with it if you have a post 7/26 build date. I bought carista and a scan tool and neither of them can access the seatbelt reminders.
