I searched for a Toyota OEM battery for the 4R and got a "discount price" of $1,158.77. Really!!! I saw this at a few online Toyota dealers!
Calling a few dealer parts department got me a price of $207.36. This was for a Toyota OEM Trustart battery. The part numbers do not match the original battery installed.
My battery is Made in Japan by Yuasa (known good battery). It's got a nice sight on top to check battery fluid level. However, when looking for the same battery, I could only find the Truestart at dealers. Calling around and got a price of $207.36 not the almost $1200 quoted online.
I know its too early to replace the battery, I usually do it proactively at about 4 years but, I'd like to know if the original Yuasa battery is available in the USA or do they only have Mexico/USA made batteries labelled as Toyota?
If anyone has replaced their battery, what did you choose? I don;t have aftermarket accessories, no off-road use but do live in a climate that gets hot and cold.
