I guess it depends what you value. If it was fuel efficiency then you are in the wrong car. There is always a cost to everything. I guess you can always look at a awd hybrid minivan which should suit most of your needs. (BTW, I've hit as high as 30mpg multiple times on a 25mile stretch to work)

I am at over 7000 miles in averaging 22-23 mpg mixed driving on normal/sport mode.
Hi Abraham. Is your SR5 4WD? I'm trying to compare to my 4WD ORP. Thank you.

Hey Hoosier,
I get abut 15.5 and just can’t fathom why my mileage is so bad. I’m looking for clues. Since this is your first post, may I ask:
What drive mode are you in usually Eco, Normal, Sport?:
Air Dam still on or removed?:
Do you have crossbars?
What Tires (Mine TRD Black Wheels with Falken Wild Peak A/T 265/70R18 116T)?:
Driving Style (Conservative/Moderate/Aggressive):
A/C On/Off/Mixed?:

I’m grasping at straws as to what makes me so special since my 2025 ORP is totally stock and I think I drive moderately in Normal mode.

Well, thanks for posting, regards.
David

David
normal mode
Air dam on
Crossbars removed just to get rid of some noise.
Stock Michelin LTX tires.
Driving style is generally moderate, conservative if I’m in no hurry.
No air conditioning yet.
Always use 87 octane, the price of 91 doesn’t justify the small increase in mileage. 30% more expensive around here for about 5% mileage increase, maybe.

I think that the air conditioner runs on its own electric motor so there shouldn’t be much of a drag on the gas engine. Not sure what is causing your low mileage. It is very flat around here, no hills to climb.

mine has increased noticeably with warmer weather and after getting some miles put on. My guess is it will improve until it hits about 10,000 miles. That has been the history of all my other cars over the years.

15.1 in Eco mode. Moderate driving style I think; just keeping up with traffic from lights, a bit fast 70-80 on highway.

I just filled a full tank 14.8 gal and did the miles since last fill calculation, not just the meter. With normal 60/40 CTY/HWY in coastal San Diego so some hills and canyons.

Vehicle: 2025 4Runner Off-Road Premium
Tires: 18” TRD Black Wheels with standard Falken Wild Peak A/T 265/70R18 116T tires
Tire Pressure: 33 cold (It started at 35 but at 641 miles dealer set to 33)
Modifications: None. Totally standard, no crossbars, I have not removed the air dam
Driving Style: Moderate, mostly just keeping up with the Hyundai’s. Fast’ish on Hwy
City/Highway Split: 60/40 to 70/30 Cty/Hwy
A/C: On most of the time. Not even sure how to turn it off.
Traffic Type: No stop and go. Mostly suburban/non-rush hour
Gas Brand: Costco “TOP TIER Detergent Gasoline”
Gas Octane: Mostly Regular 87. Premium 91 didn’t seem to make a difference.
Gas Ethanol: Pump says “Contains Up to 10% Ethanol”. Southern California.
Oil change at 2,000 miles

How's everyone's MPG stats looking lately?
