Over here at SXTH Element, we’ve been developing a high-clearance Trail Pipe for the new 4Runner and Land Cruiser. This setup is designed to improve clearance, clean up the factory exhaust layout, and hold up to real trail use.

What It Does:

• Deletes the OEM rear resonator
• Improves ground clearance by tucking the exhaust up higher
• Follows the factory exhaust path and bolts to the OEM muffler
• Slight sound increase (~8–12 dB, still very livable in the cabin)

Build Details:

• 304 stainless steel construction
• CNC-bent tubing
• TIG welded throughout
• Brushed finish for durability

This is a simple, functional upgrade. Less about making noise, more about getting that low-hanging section out of the way when you're off-road.

The most noticeable difference is at cold start. It's def louder than before but not obnoxious by any means. Once the idle settles it's barely different from stock. Under acceleration, from in the cabin, it's sliiiightly louder and the overall tone has a deeper, throat-y quality (sorry, couldn't think of a better description). I took a drive for errands a little while ago and didn't experience anything I'd consider "drone."
