For me it was worth the money more responsive in traffic and just more enjoyable to drive in my opinion.

I also got my tune installed this morning on my Trailhunter that is right at 5,000 miles. Significant difference, absolutely worth the money. No question it's one of the best upgrades I've ever done to any vehicle.

Round about how much?

Sorry if this thread is too old. I’ve gotten a quote to get an OTT tune on my TRD Pro, but I asked if I also did the banks intake, would there be a benefit. The tuner told me that the aftermarket intakes actually use smaller diameter tubes or something for airflow so it wouldn’t be worth it. He also said the OTT tune would need to be re-calibrated if I did an intake after getting tuned.

Is this info accurate? It seems like the Banks CAI info shows that they use LARGER tubing for more airflow than stock. But idk how it compares to the TRD Pro intake. Perhaps the tuner is correct?? Anybody know?

When I got my OTT tune I mentioned to the tuner I was considering buying an aftermarket intake and he mentioned it'd then need a re-tune. (He also said don't bother and that in his opinion they didn't do anything).
Can't speak to tubing diameter on aftermarket intakes.
Hope this helps.

IMHO Banks CAI looks to be the best on the market and appears to be available again after redesigning the piece for the CAI to the upper radiator support. According to Banks it flows better than the competition and considering the size of their filter and diameter of their intake tube this only makes sense. My understanding, the TRD PRO would need to be retuned and OTT has the file to do so. This comes from the differing location of the Mass Flow Sensor on Toyota's TRD PRO CAI. I brought this up when having my tune installed and was told to bring it back if I decided to install and they would do the update at no additional cost

Fantastic info! Do you think there are any real gains to be had by doing the Banks CAI and the OTT tune both, or would I be better off saving the $400+ on the CAI and just doing the OTT tune by itself?

I installed Banks Boost Tubes on mine prior to installing the tune. I could definitely feel an increase in acceleration and mid range response having done so. It felt as if off the line and midrange power was more responsive. Toyota's TRD PRO CAI has a differing sound than our ORP-Max and the PRO definitely seemed to perform better prior to installing the Boost Tubes. Banks claims 18.3 hp and 17.7 torque increase but they say not for the PRO or Trail Hunter. At this point I'm satisfied with how my PRO performs and will wait and see how things progress. I'm guessing the location of the Mass Flow Sensor may be the reasoning? Supposedly the standard I Force Max and Pro have different tuning in stock form because of this? My OTT guy told me this can definitely be addressed. IDK?
