Picked up a 25 Sport Premium a couple weeks ago. Had dunlops installed. Didn't think anything of it. Until I found this site.

Having an issue with excessive vibration. I dropped it off last night and they're going to try and rebalance the tires today.

In doing some homework last night, this site and pics say the OEM tires should be yokos.

Anyone else have dunlops on their TRD Sport Premium? Or did I get a switcheroo?

Timely post for me. I have a Sport Premium coming in a few weeks. I had them remove the 20 inch nitro grapplers and saved 1600 up charge. Im using the 4 runner mostly for highway and towing. But I did not check what all season tires they are replacing them with. Any suggestions for smooth highway driving. I've been a Michelin guy in the past.

Michelin LTX Trail on my ORP. I think they use different tires depending on if it's a hybrid or not.

Yes. I was speaking directly about the TRD Sport Premium. (Not a hybrid, and a very specific trim).

Ok. thanks for the comments. Seems Toyota did make a supply change. I wanted to be sure it wasn't a switcheroo with an unhappy customer before they sold the vehicle and dismounted the previous tires. Why? 3 of my tires couldn't be roadforced. and are now being ordered for replacement after 1k miles due to vibration issues. I hope you all get better tires.

Bought the car and didn't see highway for a bit. Getting up to 70... yikes. Made appointment that day and had to wait a week or so to get it in. Under 70, the tires are fine. Over 70? The dunlops are horrible. (And proof positive via them being so bad they couldn't roadforce them).

I hope I get good tires (lottery?). If not, they will be buying me 5 new, but different mfr tires (to also include the spare).

I bought my Sport Premium on July 3rd. I believe build date is from May. Yoko Geolanders. I want to go to 18s and more sidewall. My 5y/o beagle is sensitive to more road feel from RR Sport 20” Mich.

Update, they replaced 3 of the 4 Dunlops because they would not road force balance in spec. Vibration is reduced greatly, yet still there.

This is my 3rd attempt at fixing the vibration issue that is occurring above 70mph. I have seen others with the Off Road Premium having the same issues at speeds above 70 and I'm starting to come to a conclusion ... it may not be the tires. (And reference to third attempt is in Ma, that's when Lemon Law can come into play)

My thread here, and these two: All at 70+ causing vibrations... different models. My head is going to bad differentials, drive shaft, ujoints, or axles.

Update 2: Current fix is to put Yokohamas on them. Pick it up tomorrow/Tuesday. They had to get region involved with this and they (region/National) are becoming increasingly aware that the Dunlops are causing many people issues.

I've started a larger thread for people to report vibration issues. We're seeing it on varying trims along with varying tires installed (and already multiple attempts to fix). Evidence is mounting there may be something a bit more going on here...

https://www.4runner6g.com/forum/thr...r-having-issues-diagnosing-blaming-tires.6517

If you have a vibration, please go in there and discuss what was done to eliminate it if you've found it.

Took delivery of my TRD 2025 Sports Premium last week. Came with 20 in Dunlop Tires. Given the above posts I was nervous about the ride. However just completed my first long distance trip abt 800 mi. Ran it hard on I95 in va and nc. Had no vibration problems. Was a smooth and solid ride. Ran it a bit on some farm dirt roads again no issues. Just what the doc ordered. Also pickup with turbo was great, better than my 5th Gen TRD Trail.
