How do I permanently disable this auto-braking "feature"? It's extremely annoying as it happens even when there's a good 6 inches from the wall:
- PCS is OFF
- Parking sensors are OFF

Awesome, thanks!
1. Which of these annoying things reset to ON every time I start the car? I know PCS does.
2. How do I make it not reset every time i start the car?

The only 2 I find useful are BSM and RCTA. I want everything else to be off

Well I have a very narrow driveway and PCS never turned back on after I disabled it.

Same. I do find it kind of funny though that "Parking Support Brake is Off" is the only message that pops up every time I start my 4Runner even though I have all the other options turned off too. Definitely the most annoying, impossible to drive with a bike rack or get into my garage with it on.

Yea it’s a bit annoying I have to press the return key to remove the message but now I’m getting used to it. Unless someone comes out with something to disable that feature.

Some settings are driver specific (manual selection or key detect). I do not recall if any of these settings are though. The manual specifies which are driver specific.

I have all settings on, I find them useful (and do not have something like a bike rack where they may need to be disabled).

How do you get the settings to stay off? I turned off the PCS and then the next time I started my car it was back on.

Is there something you have to do after you change the settings to make it save so that it will start the that way next time you get in the car? I have my key fob linked to my profile and it does show my profile when I get in the car yet PCS and the brake reminder go back to being on?

Also, can anyone explain the sensitivity settings? There's a cell phone signal looking bar that has three settings for most things. If you only have one bar. Illuminated does that make things happen quicker or does that make things take longer? Like if you had sensitivity on your blind spot monitoring, you can have three different setting levels under support timing. And I don't understand if all three bars lit up means it would happen quicker or slower. If anyone has a good way to explain the sensitivity bars I would sure appreciate it.

P650 of manual says the following for Blind spot monitoring:
Function: Alert timing for presence of approaching vehicle (sensitivity)*
Customized setting: Later/Default/Earlier

So I would THINK that the middle bar is default and the taller bar is later (more time) but .... yep its a bit ambiguous. Especially if the taller bar is on the right in the settings menu. If taller bar is on the left, I think my answer is the correct one, but I've not checked (or bothered changing this since I hardly notice it. ) I believe that when towing it takes the trailer length (that you program in when setting up towing) into account.

The other sensitivity is for PDA. "Low/Mid/High" "support sensitivity". Also a bit ambiguous and I've also kept this at the middle default. But assumedly on "high" it will brake harder/steer firmer (applies to OAA, DA, & SA functions).
