I noticed a big difference in sound quality. That was just as shocking for me as the volume upgrade.
This is what I was most curious about, I don’t listen loudly as is but I was hoping it would add some clarity and fullness. Very excited now!

I’d rather hear turbo noises with a new intake and a growl with the new exhaust.

I installed it on my 2025 TRD Pro and it made a huge difference with the clarity and the volume and the install was super easy.

While I see the benefits of adding an amp, my biggest concern would be longevity. Getting extra clarity and bass means increasing power going to the speakers. That creates extra heat which if the stock speakers can't dissipate it then long term, it will eventually cook them.

If I'm not mistaken, you're concerns would be negligible as long as the gain on the amp is no more than 50%. At the video's recommended 50% there seems to be a noticeable volume gain & more clarity however even a lower gain setting would decrease “stress” on the speakers & should still improve clarity due to a theoretically higher quality signal.

My main concern is that, even with a slight gain(which is needed because the sound system is not the greatest stock), if its generating more heat than what the speakers can handle it can still cause issues long term. Unfortunately parts are made cheaper so even with a slight increase, if its above what the speakers are rated for it could damage them. The coil needs to be able to dissipate the heat generated and even a slight increase, can make the coil overheat if it goes above what the factory power rating is.

I understand...and you might be correct. Only time will tell though if you are. Just to play devil's advocate, I'd venture to say that the JBL! speakers would be fine for long period of time with a bit of gain not beyond about 50% but the Toyota branded speakers would probably be toast much sooner. JBL! speakers & amps are above average quality though certainly not top of the line like Kicker, JL Audio, Rockford Fosgate, Polk, Alpine, etc..

Not wanting to sound negative or doubt the results from this amp….. it looks like a 45x4 peak amp for a system that is currently 12 channels and 1200 watts. I am guessing it only amplifies the primary 4 channels in the doors. Other than volume, is the sound balanced. I turn my volume up and it seems to sound decent for a factory system and is balanced.

Just purchased one after watching a video for the SR5 without JBL. The stock system is like someone else said 4 out of 10. There's also an upgraded alpine speaker kit if i decide to upgrade down the road. Someone mentioned if the speakers blow with having an amp. Just remove the amp and take it in for a warranty claim? Or replace the speakers

The speakers won’t blow. It is a line driver. It simply increases the output ofmthe head unit. It does a commendable job. The upgraded speakers would refine the bass which is weak link in the system. The woofers are too loose Imho. I am happy with the upgrade in sound quality.

Is there an upgrade to base with this amp? Higher volume levels? I'm happy for better sound quality as well as it sounds very cheap

I installed it on the base system. I found it worthwhile. You get a boost in volume, but it is more the fuller sound as the stock speakers are underpowered with only the head unit power. I would imagine efficient speaker would make a difference, but how much I could not quantify.
