It would be interesting to see how Toyota handles the Feds Diesel requirements with DEF/Particulate filter. Having a '16 Ford and '21 & GM Diesel trucks I will never again own a Diesel from those companies.
I believe it’s why you will never see a Toyota diesel in this country. People are always asking why they don’t bring them here, I am pretty sure it’s because they don’t want to meet certain states stringent certifications.

1st tow today, just 45 miles to take the Trailer back to the dealer for a water leak, haven't even had it out yet. Did fine plenty of power but we didn't hit the mountains, the one thing I did notice is these Michelin's really track with the cement lines wagging the ass end all over the place. pulled over to make sure everything was hooked up correctly and it was. Once we got off cement and on asphalt it was gone. Seems the extra tongue weight really makes it bad, I noticed it on the way home without the trailer but it was only 10% as bad.

I just towed for about 300 miles. with or OR hybrid. i noticed the same issue as you with these Michelin's tires. our camper is around 3500lb. we are leaving in 2 weeks on a 2000 mile trip with the camper.

I read in the manual not to tow over 45mph until the engine reaches 1000 miles. Was this the same on the fifth Gen? I’ll post my experience next week.
thats standard op for toyota regardless of model

Can't speak on the michelins but the Toyo's that came on my Pro were some of the weakest tires I"ve experienced. When I had the new tires put on mine I could literally push the tire to bend comepletely in half. Very weak sidewalls. If the michelins are similar, that's probably where your wiggle was coming from. Got back from our 1st trip in the mountains from Denver area to Leadville @ over 10k feet of elevation. The TRD OR Hybrid did ok going up and very good coming home. One thing I was worried about with the Hybrid was how much extra power I would really get to use. The MAX works when it's charged up but de-charges fairly quickly going up long hills. I noticed a significant drop in power after just a little bit of climbing on I-70. I was down to 50 MPH at the Eisenhower tunnel which surprised me, it felt more like the Non-Hybrid 278/317. I averaged 11 MPG going up the hill which actually isn't bad, for comparison my '24 GMC 3500 got 9 MPG on the same trip. Gas range is going to be an issue as I suspected, trip was a 145 miles and I was at 26 miles left for distance when I pulled into camp.

Coming home was great as I went a different route without the long climbs and the Hybrid worked the entire time, I had power to spare. MPG went up to 15 and it felt like it was just cruising along the entire ride back not laboring as it did coming up.

My setup is 4100 pds dry and probably pushing 5400 pounds loaded up, we have a Prodigy RF BC and it worked perfectly. For future trips I may just drive out of my way a bit to avoid I-70 for the long hills and the horrible traffic.

I don't know how people get these good mpg towing lol. I have towed this camper and others and never got 11mpg+ towing at 70mph. I got 13mpg in the 5th gen once only bc the speed limit is 50 on the Natchez trace.

Make sure to turn off all the lane keep assist in the settings. All the little inputs it makes makes the tail wag. We averaged 9.5mpg on our 1200+ mile camping trip. Our 5th gen would have been around 8 8.5 with the transmission temp getting 250 degrees.

Just a quick update to say that I just finished another trip, so I'm almost at 5000 miles towing so far. Honestly, this thing is a fantastic tow vehicle for me and a significant improvement over my 5th gen. There are a few quirky things (like the straight path assist occasionally not able to locate the trailer), but I really won't complain much. Looking forward to many more miles hauling my camper around.

I'll be towing our travel trailer with the 2025 TH Hybrid at about 5K loaded and definitely using a WD hitch and sway bar. What kind of extended mirrors are you using and your opinions please.

Thank you! That very helpful. There's so many options and I want to make sure they fit right. Are you happy with them...vibration, etc.?

I'm using these, they're just ok with a little vibration and they will slip off if you don't add the extra rubber wire tie below.

When I was looking for the link on etrailer I noticed they now have these mirrors, I had these on my Tundra and they're very good if I were you I'd get these when they're available.

I put around 2000miles (and changed my engine oil), before I did my first towing. I then towed a roughly 2000lb squaredrop all over. Toured around northern NM and southern CO.

Went over 10,000 ft passes. Down washboard roads. Through mud roads, that several vehicles were stuck in (one was a sprinter van). And then 1400 miles across the plain states back home. I barely knew the trailer was back there. No problem with power up hills, overtaking etc.

I got about 20-21 mpg on journeys before towing. When towing I was down to around 15 mpg at highway speeds - 19mpg on canyon dirt roads in the mountains.
