Husky hood protector / bug deflector installed on 2025 4Runner owned by @Leo R.

Some photos so you guys can have an idea on how it will look. I do like the fact that it matches fender flare. Texture and a bit of the color. It's just slightly darker. Just slightly. You wouldn't notice the difference unless you have them side by side. But like I said, barely.

That's pretty cool looking & functional.

What's underneath it to prevent it from scratching or marring the painted surface underneath it?

Did you take any photos of the back side of the product & hardware before installation?

Good questions and following. I have never purchased one of these because tge always looked cheap junk. From the pics, it looks good.

Went on the Husky site, but cannot find one like you show in the photo. Where did you get yours?

I second Crankpin’s question — does it actually work?
Every highway trip in my 5th gen 4Runner turns into a bug battlefield. I end up with major splatter — especially from the big bugs that leave 2–3" smears — all over the mirrors, windshield, bumper, fog lights, front grille openings, and even the front license plate. It's like a full-on insect massacre across the entire front end.

I’m definitely interested if it helps even just with keeping the windshield cleaner — the constant splatter is getting old fast. Would love to hear how effective it really is.

I would say it works better at deflecting light road grit and light bugs, but it really depends on where you live and if you tailgate. Other than that I bought my first one in 2017 and they look cool and are well made. IMO

Bug splatter ! On this Premium, a prompt comes up, "Windshield washer tank needs filled". Not exactly those words. I fill up often, as on highways where you get some speed, as soon as the bug hits, I hit the washer, usually does a great job, not 100% on all. One automatic car wash here does a great job. I took it there soon as we came back from KY where I purchased, and the girl said to me, is this 4Runner new, and she said she will program the roller brushes to not touch the paint, uses the fabric brushes only.
Smart girl, she thinks 30 days, cure. I have purchased many 4Runners and other Toyotas, first time someone told me that.
