Anyone hand wash their new rig yet? Anyone else’s spoiler kinda rickety? Not sure if it’s supposed to be like that but when I was washing it last night and cleaning the roof, the spoiler moves up and down a tiny bit like it’s not fully tightened to the body. Will try and take a vid of it

Do you mean the front, lower air dam? Pictures are worth a thousand words.

As you referred to the roof, I assume you might mean the overhang that covers the rear wiper???

Either way, mine is solid.

Yeah, I noticed that too. I can’t remember if it was the same with the 5th gen or not.

The only quality complaint I've found so far but yeah seems chinzy. Do love the hidden wiper tho'.

The spoiler/overhang on the rear where the wiper hides. I do appreciate the hidden wiper as well, but it’s a little rickety. It’s pretty subtle so the video kinda sucks but can still see it move.

I see similar movement on the 5th gen spoiler.

There’s more play lifting the spoiler up but not an issue in my opinion

Just checked a 4 week old 4Runner. Yes, it has movement but it might be by design to prevent rattles, etc. I am fussy but I am equally not too worried about this.

Follow up - I was out and about today and using the rear door. Probably 10+ times. I do now notice that on closing, it rattles and sounds cheap. This is the manual, use your arms and not a button mechanism.

I get it, its a Toyota, not a Range Rover.

Cool. Just as long as it’s common for most and not a rare issue, I’m good.

I noticed the loose spoiler a few days ago. I wonder if it will be a problem for people putting ladders on the back of their 4runner? Not that it attaches to it, I know it doesn't. But you'll be bumping around the spoiler a lot more and could damage it. I'm not going to test it, but it feels like I could pull it down with little effort. :-/
