Hissing at low speed. Anyone hear a hissing noise while it’s at low wheel speed and low RPMs? It doesn’t sound like the turbo but almost under chassis rather than in the engine bay. Is this normal? I didn’t hear it before (wasn’t listening closely either) but yesterday I was driving and heard a distinct “clink” under the left forward wheel as if something seated or maybe I ran over something. I dunno if it’s related or not.

I don't have my truck yet but could it be something to do with the HVAC system? That's the only thing that I can think of.

Hard to be sure we're talking about the same sound but if we are, yes, it's normal. Before getting mine, a few YT videos mentioned something like, it sounds like a diesel engine when you start pressing the accelerator. I saw it mentioned enough that it couldn't be a fluke, and once I got my ORP, that's kind of what it sounds like. I also saw a trailhunter video where they rolled the passenger window down to hear the engine sound through the snorkel and that's the whizzing/whirring/buzzing sound I hear except on a non-trailhunter. If you have a way to record and post the sound, that would be the best way to be sure, but I think it's "normal," or at least normal for this vehicle.

I hear it also. I'm under 200 miles

it’s not the turbo because it doesn’t have a pitch change/whistle tone.

It basically sounds like a cicada insect, it’s a buzz when you push the accelerator lightly. I can only hear it with the windows down. As long as it’s normal I’m cool. It’s not THAT annoying but a little cheap sounding. Does that describe what you’re hearing as well?

it’d be cool to know what component makes the noise

I know it's far-fetched but just in case ... Check that you don't have your ventilated seats on.

I have this same thing. Made a post about if a few months ago. I took it to the dealer and drove another on the lot which did the same thing. I agree it’s very annoying…

don't know if this applies. on the side of the back seats there are vents... i believe for hybrid battery... if they get blocked it starts to make (wind-like) noise... like there is a bad door seal or something. had a cargo blanket in the car and it partially covered it.. was losing my damn mind thinking it was a rubber seal on the rear door.

I have noticed this same sound in my 300 mile SR5. Is this something to be concerned about or is it just annoying at low speeds? Do we know what component is producing the sound?

WAW! o_O:ROFLMAO: Just walked back from the parking lot : same thing happened to me.
I started hearing the same "bad seal noise" type this week and I thought o myself that I must be going LOCO. Just a folded blanket covering 1/2 of the vent (driver side)...
Thanks!
