Fender Flare separation / gap issue (TRD Off-Road Premium)

Fit all around shows separation, worse at front fenders; see video and pics; Any suggestions? Update: 24 Feb - bringing it to dealer next week so they can take photos/video and send to Toyota for direction. Update 5 March, today dealer took photos and sent Dealer Product Report (DPR) to Toyota, will wait for their reply and update. update 25 March, Dealer called with status, still waiting on response from Toyota. Update 16 April, Toyota/dealership is replacing fender flares, drop off next week. Will provide additional details when work is complete. (if you have this same gaps, please report to your dealership, Toyota will only address if reported)

Trd John pointed out the same thing. From what I see you can remove it(clips might break so buy a kit just in case) and add 3m high strength double sided tape all around it.

You could remove it and then strengthen that area by gluing something stiff to it so it won't sag. Since it look like the plastic is too thin at that side.

Last is take it to toyota and let them figure it out. The glue might be coming off thays why it sags. I have done something similar for rattles in my corolla and they fixed it for free

I haven’t taken a close look yet, will try to get behind it in the next few weeks when the weather is warmer. Will let you know.

Are the fender flares just glued on (no bolts)? I figured they were bolted on. I've worked on a few vehicles where I had to remove/replace fenders/flares for various reasons, but they were always bolted on in some way. It never occurred to me that some manufactures used adhesives instead of hardware. I assume you'd use a heat gun and/or chemicals to remove/replace, but I'd be nervous about melting, warping, or discoloring the plastic.

I suppose the advantage it that if one got ripped off with a branch or rock (or another vehicle in a collision), then it would probably do less damage to the body (just speculation on why they would do this).

They are clips attaching them. Mine has a much smaller gap than this one.

Has this issue been reported by anyone with the color matching flares that come with the TRD Sport Premium? I don't think I saw that but was asking to confirm.

i think the color matched ones are thicker than the flimsy black ones but it could be just my imagination.

Don’t know, the color matches look solid in all the pics … the black plastic is flimsy
