I'm waiting for a drawer company to utilize the small cargo space under the load floor on the hybrids. Make the front of the drawers deeper.

how would you expect that to work? I have been trying to brainstorm something that would utilize that space and nothing I can think of would work except a hatch style panel.

From the photos I have seen the area looks like its not evenly sloped, so a deeper section at the front of the drawer would lead to a drawer that does not open as far.

Sure, but if you look at the thread with photos I do not think that is really going to net much space. What I think will work is more of a raised platform that lifts on either side. If I ever get my truck I may go down that path and build something. Not raised too much, but just enough for a tool roll, jumper cables and maybe some back up first aid stuff.

It'll net 4 to 5'' of usable space I'd bet. That's quite a bit as far as i'm concerned. If the drawer box is aluminum and not wood, you'll only need 1/4'' to 1/2'' for materials.

I'd second wanting that extra bit of space, can't open that compartment lid with a drawer on top of it anyway and I'd rather not just leave it open.

I could also just see putting a hinged door under the drawers to close in the compartment keeping it full width, would be nice to access camp lights or recovery gear quickly.

I've been waiting to see drawer system designs for the hybrids, just hoping that it will allow access to the air compressor on the trailhunter.

When we get our hands on a Hybrid, we will take this info and put it to good use! We love hearing what people want/need. I'll post some links to ways we've allowed lower access in some other vehicle platforms.

Ford Bronco P.A.C.S. Drawer
Jeep WL M.A.S.S. Platform

Our 6th Gen platform and M.A.S.S. system will ensure access to any lower storage possibilities, but keeping the access when running drawers or sliders will take some head scratching, but it is clearly a necessity. I have a thread going about our 6G platform if anyone wants to ask about it or provide input. I don't want to hijack this thread!
