I live in Vancouver and you are not supposed tint your front windows. I tinted my 2014 Limited front and rear and didn’t have issues. I cannot remember what tint I used. The front was just slightly tinted and the rear was fairly dark but if you put your face to the window from the outside you could see in. For the front I’m trying to reduce heat and a bit of glare. For the back it is to increase the privacy. Any advice or suggestions?

I just had mine done last week.
They did 80% Ceramic (or the inverse 20% - the whole tint percentage thing makes no sense to me) on the drivers & passenger side front doors. It looks slightly different from the back, but not much (I've seen 70% and 75% in other posts), I associate it with the Ceramic versus Factory Tint.
On the front they did 50% Ceramic, it was the lightest they keep in stock. I was initially worried seeing it from the outside, but you're looking into a fully tinted truck. From the inside it is much lighter and barely noticeable, I was told the Ceramic improves visibility compared to regular.
During the day, sun glare is cut way down. With polarized sunglasses on, the view out the front is probably better than looking out the open sunroof IMHO.
At night the front tint is not overwhelming and helps with streetlight halos and headlight glare.
Ceramic is worth the upcharge.

My front window is 70, front seats 50, rear seats 35 and rear corner window and back window are like 10. Guy I bought it from had 10 all around except windshield and I couldn’t see shit out the driver side window at night so I changed it up. Set up now is really good. I did the high end tint material.

Thanks. I’m leaning towards 35 or 50 in the front (not windshield) and 35 on the rear. With the current factory tint it will bring everything in the back down to about 10.

I put 50% on the windshield; 20% on the front driver and passenger side, and 5% on the rear seat and rear window.

Thanks. I’m guessing it’s pretty dark all around.

I thought that the factory tint wasn’t real tint, but just privacy glass.

I believe you are correct. But when you add tint to the factory privacy glass the actual outdoor is much darker.

Hey Tim,

Yeah, BC states no tint on the front driver and passenger side window. XPEL Prime XR Plus 70 VLT for the tint and 55 VLT on the sunroof. I got the front and rear door side windows done. Just to cut the heat inside of the vehicle. Check for TSER (total solar energy rejection) for that. With nano-ceramic, there is no interference to your radio reception, Bluetooth, or remote

I did Xpel Xr Plus 30% on the front windows and 5% on the rear. Also the easiest way to understand the percentage on window tint the number refers to the visible light transmission.
