Why are you buying the 6th gen 4Runner / replacing your current vehicle?

Just a bit tired of my tired (but still capable) 2011 BMW X5 35d. I love how it drives, the diesel X5 has a fantastic, beautiful motor, but it has 195k miles on it and I have some medical things going on and a full time job. The X5 has become an enthusiast project like my M5 has long ago. Too much time researching, making list lists, arranging for service or repairs, etc. I'm going to ship the X5 out west to the desert where it will store better than the terrible New England climate (and have a vehicle when I travel that way) and rely on the 4Runner, as I did the X5, now to get me out of my driveway at 0500 in the morning when everything is covered in snow and the plow has deposited a nice berm at the end of the driveway, but with a warranty. And if it gets really bad, my 2018 Ram 2500 has proven able to, also.

My 2025 Hybrid Limited is my 4th 4Runner. I traded my 5th Gen and got this. My 5th Gen had 189k miles and had no problems but I figured once it got over 200k it might be a bit less desirable for someone. I wanted the roll down back window still and this hybrid has 326 hp and a lot more torque that my 5th Gen Luis it has an extra 1000 lbs towing capacity (6000 lbs) Ofer my 5th gen. It was a wonderful vehicle and took us to many remote places and never complained. But I enjoy the 24+mpg on the road and 20-22 around town. The acceleration is awesome and so fun to drive. Oops, that's more than one reason but I'm very happy with this truck.

Like many other comments here, my '26 is not my first 4Runner. I had a 2nd Gen, a third Gen and a fifth generation Runner before this. My 5th Gen had nearly 200,000 miles on it with no problems. But this 6th gen (I have the iForce Max Hybrid) has more hp, a bunch more torque and a 6000 lb towing capacity. We have a small Lance travel trailer that the 5th gen pulled, just ok. This rig zooms up long hills with ease. Without the trailer I regularly get over 24-26 MPG on the road which was unheard of in the 5th gen. The tech is great. I turned off every "safety feature" I could and I love driving it.

I haven't made the move yet as I'm still shopping but I want to get out of a pickup and into an SUV. My off-roading is light to moderate. Forest trails and beach.

Now that I know the Limited has a torsen center differential, I'm leaning that way instead of a TRD OR.

Wife's 2018 5th Gen ORP is at 240k, so looking for a replacement. Her current 4R has performed really well in all conditions....not sure I can convince her to buy anything else.
