Not a lot of coverage here on winch mounting. Different systems out there but I have owned a few Warn winches and mounting systems over the years and waited until Warn came out with one for the 6th Gen 4Runner.

Installed two days ago on our ORP, this is the Warn Semi-Hidden mount, part #111932 stuffed with a Warn Zeon XD 12S (12,000lb) winch, part #110012. Unlike some of the other systems out there the winch clutch is easily accessible from the front. With this mount the winch can be operated by a hand held control unit or by Bluetooth. If the winch is not easily accessible as this one is you are limited to Bluetooth operation. It is compatible with the TRD skid plate too. Not all are.

For comparison, grins and giggles, next to our ORP is our '04 2500HD with a Warn chromed stainless Transformer mount and Warn M12,000lb winch. That truck, mount and winch have given me 22 years of service and the winch has seen some hard use. That's why Warn was my choice for our ORP.

Heavy metal next to new age beer cans and plastic, but I have owned a few Toyotas too including the Sequoia the ORP replaced. Next up is the Wescott Preload Collar Lift Kit, parts on order. Likely as far as I will go with this. Sticking with the stock wheels and tire size for now at least.

You were the Warn test bed right? I installed most stuff on my previous vehicles myself. Didn't care to skin knuckles and string wire anymore so I looked around for a really good shop, not one of the typical places you find. Found Mule Expedition Outfitters in Issaquah, a three hour round trip but worth it. These guys gave me a tour of their shop before we got down to business. Couple of employee owned 4Runners out front that were quite modified. Warn is not one of the products they normally work with but do on occasion. They ordered what I wanted. Today I went over everything. Top notch, clean work. They set mine up as Bluetooth too but the really redeeming feature of the Warn mount is winch access. If Bluetooth quits working for some reason all you need to do is unplug the Bluetooth module from the winch and plug in the hand held controller. I think that's important. I have seen plenty of stuff crap out in the wrong place at the wrong time.

That's great you found Mule, I've heard very good things about them.
Yes, I was the Test rig for this setup. I've dealt with Warn products for over 35 years, so i know i was in good hands...
I keep my hand control in my center console, for just that reason.. :) you never know and I like being prepared!
