Trying to find a high beam trigger wire and struggling. After some time with my multimeter I've confirmed the lighting on these are way more complex than I know how to deal with. Was hoping it was going to be as simple as a 12v+ lead for high beams that I could tap into but no such luck. If I can find a lead under the dash even better but I can tap it right at the headlight as well.

Any luck?
Not yet and ironically I just got home from a dark drive in the deer filled mountains realizing how much I want it to work.

on the phone so can’t find the exact device but I did order some $100 canbus signal reader that the Tundra guys have been using. I tried to install once using the same wires they were using but no luck. Haven’t had much time to dive into it more but I’ve also been wondering if there might be something that the Pro models have installed factory that may lead to a lead on all models. Kinda curious what the lightbar lighting on a Pro looks like.

Not sure if this will help but there is a thread with some images of the electrical connections. This is aux focused but the thread might help: Aux switch wiring diagram - several different images from tech manual
Aux switch wiring diagram. Going to see if I can locate the harness.

BTW…. What is it you are trying to accomplish? Not clear to me from your post.

I have that exact unit. Have not been able to determine which wires carry the high beam signal.
does this make sense ?

CanM8 high beam output wire is typically a purple wire, which provides a 12V signal when the vehicle's high beams activate, designed to trigger a relay for auxiliary lights, not directly power them.

I need a 12v signal that triggers on with the high beams to make my light bar turn on and off with them.

The problem is not the 12v output from the CanM8 system. The problem is finding out which factory wire on the 4Runner carries the digital canbus signal triggering the high beams to come on. Once we know what wire that is I can tap into it with the CanM8 system to get the needed 12v output from the unit.

The Tundra guys have figured it out on their harness. I've tried to copy what they discovered but it doesn't appear to work on the 4Runner the same. Either that or my canbus reader is not functioning.

according to canm8, the

canma8 highbeam device wiring is this

View attachment 28760
That is the wiring coming out of the CanM8 unit. Those are not the concern. We need to know what wires on the 4Runner have the signal we are looking for to go into the CanM8 unit.

Basically need to know what wire to connect the white CanM8 and blue CanM8 wires to.

Does anyone have an answer to this inquiry?

I am attempting to do the same thing....get a +12V input from the vehicle's high beams to power a relay to turn on a light bar. I have a CanM8 but it has no vehicle specific instructions....in fact I cannot even use their app because apparently my Android system is too new...? I know I need to tap into the vehicle Can Bus....but beyond that I do not have a clue.

Man I have scoured the 'net and cannot find an answer. Kind of surprising considering that 6th Gens are everywhere and a high percentage of them are modified.

Thanks for any input!

all I got is

the connector in the dash... z22.. (first pic) for the turn/high beam stalk
(first red line from the left side of pic)

and the pin that is activated (1) in that connector (second pic)
when the high beam switch is on (pushed forward)
