TRD Air Filter Upgrade (PTR03-35240)

Has anyone swapped out their paper filter for the TRD air filter? Wondering if there is any real benefit, other than not having to replace the paper filter?

Zero benefit aside from not having to buy new ones every 30K miles. Reusable filters are a nice marketing gimmick. No real data supporting any improvement. Only data comes from the companies that produce them. Unless you're retuning, they're useless and in many cases don't filter as well as the paper ones...

one of a few youtoobs on air filters. this by an oil analysis wiz

that TRD air filter doesn't have an efficiency rating I can find, so
I'd much rather use a filter with known rating so I know how much
garbage gets past it.

yes it needs oiling

I have it on my ORP currently. It does require oil which on the box, refer using K&N's cleaning kit.

AEM has reusable dry filter. Ill probably go with that
