I was putting my rear seats back into sitting position when I noticed these straps. I then saw the sticker on the back of the seat. They have these straps (tumble band) to prevent the seats from snapping back down. I know, it's something small, but I've only had my ORP for 12 days, so I'm still learning. Thought I'd share just in case others didn't know.

Now take a look at the "seat hook covers" from that same page in the manual. Notice anything weird?
ok i'll bite ?

only thing i see is that the OP routed the locking clip backwards (has as twist in his) than the picture in the manual.

the cover flap looks exactly as the manual picture.

Was sort of baiting the OP to notice something that I missed until about the 4th time I used the "tumble band" and the "seat hook covers".

Here is the image immediately below the one the OP posted.

I never noticed that those covers are two different sizes until one time I couldn't understand why they wouldn't fit. I think I posted this as a "random observation" because it was one of those WTF moments for me. Really minor thing but I do use both the tumble band and seat hook covers quite regularly...

oh ok now i get it. it is confusing how in the manual that 2nd pic is not actually related to the pic the op posted..

those 4 covers are for the seat base latches to hold the seat in position when not stowed. they actually have covers so when you use the tumble straps you pull the covers off the back of the seat to cover the latches (in the floor, not the seat hardware) so no debris gets into them to impede them from latching correctly.

Oh! Now I get it, thanks for explaining. I was scratching my head thinking, WTF!

here is a better explaination

the red circles are the the latches that hold the seat to the floor

the green circles are the covers that go over the blue circle hook loop that the red circle latches latch onto

When I first read a previous post covering the tumble straps I thought what a great feature. Then I went to try it myself and found no straps in the designated location.
Is my Limited missing this feature? Was I ripped off and thus need to speak with my dealership? Anyone know?

I think if you have the third row, you don't need the straps?

And yet Toyota gives me the ability to fold them down for cargo use and then like all 5 passenger trims the second row. We (Canadians) were forced to accept the Limiteds only as 7 passengers and with the price tag they couldn’t include two $5 straps. Unbelievable.
