Got my sunshade from the dealer couple days ago. They had two in stock, I of course threw away the label so can't post that info. My only gripe is it's a roll up one. I personally love the ones that fold like an accordion. But it fits perfectly and does the job. $34.99 at South Coast Toyota in Costa Mesa for those local and looking for one.
Was this an official Toyota product? Dod the have a folding one?

Found the packaging. Not an official Toyota product but from what I can tell it's specifically designed for the 4R.
The two they had were roll ups, not folding.

Has anyone else bought the TRD sunshade and knows if it fits?

I think I read somewhere that if the sunshade doesn't fit in contact with the full windshield (e.g. it's several inches away at the top due to poor fit) it's not very effective at reducing internal heat.

I wonder if you could buy a roll of reflective insulation (like this stuff:
https://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbil...Insulation-Radiant-Barrier-24x10DRI/314983628 )
and cut it with scissors to an exact fit, especially if you have a front dashcam since they come in many different shapes/sizes/placements. Seems like it ought to work. Could probably make a template by tracing/measuring the shape of the exterior surface of the windshield.

And if you know someone with a sewing machine you could even have a cloth hem sewn around the perimeter to make it look nicer.

Do you suppose the windshield for every trim is identical in shape/dimensions?

EDIT: on second thought, I like this guy's approach better:
You buy an accordion shade that you know is too big, and trim it to fit.
Not sure about his use of hockey tape around the edges (seems it would get sticky with the extreme heat of a car interior during the summer (AZ for me)) but otherwise I think I might try this approach.

I might be too late to weigh in here, but I bought this one from HeatShield: https://www.heatshieldstore.com/car-window-shades/2025-toyota-4runner-suv
It delivered in abt a week. Fits the 4Runner's windshield perfectly. Cost around $65 incl shipping - a little pricy, but worth it. Definitely makes a big difference in the inside temp when parked in the sun. This is my 2nd shade from them. I used the 1st one in my 2015 & 2020 Highlanders -- it still looks new after 10 years of constant use. I was pretty bummed that it was too big for the 4Runner, so I had to buy a new one. The only drawback is it's kinda big (long) - rolls up. I've attached a couple of pics to show fit & size.

I ordered the same shade from Amazon as @6G4RWCPTRDSP (https://a.co/d/fYHELeK)

I originally ordered a cover from Coverking, which does feel more premium than the AutoMate cover, but it was a smidge too large in my experience. It fits, but it's very, very tight. I have to push my headliner out of the way to get it unstuck from the fully deployed position, and I'm not interested in doing that every day. The AutoMate shade is much easier and quicker to deploy and remove, but looks and feels a little less nice. It will still do the job.

In the photos, the black backed cover is the Coverking, gray backed is the AutoMate.

In your photo above, the AutoMate shade looks like it's about 2" too short on the top. Is that just an optical illusion because it's not pushed up against the windshield using the visors?

I may have to cut a chunk out just to the left of the rearview mirror cutout to accommodate my dashcam, but I'll have to do that with any of them.

It's a bit of an optical illusion. I have a dash cam, so it will not sit flush against the glass. In the comparison photos where I have the two shades stacked, the Coverking is only about an inch taller. That's tall enough that it makes contact with the headliner before making it to the windshield. I didn't like how the Coverking got wedged behind the lip of the headliner if pushed all the way up against the glass. Taking that in and out daily might be hard on the edge of the headliner unless you really take time to remove it. You also have to "seat" the base of it all along the bottom between the glass and dash to get the top to wedge past the headliner. Like I said, it's a very tight fit. Some might like that. If you have the premium audio with the extra JBL speakers in the A pillar, they get in the way of the Coverking as well. For me, I want to take 10 seconds and minimal effort to put a cover up, and the AutoMate meets that.

How is it holding up? thinking about getting it as well. I have an aftermarket dash cam as well so I dont need it to be flush just need it to keep some of this Texas heat out

It's been great during this heatwave we had the past few weeks in Missouri. Definitely recommend it!
