I got the OEM one on sale for an amazing price. Power coated it Black. Looks great.

Yeah, I found that if you order OEM via Toyota's online store, it is much cheaper than going into a dealership. Plus they right now have an extra 15% off!
This makes OEM quite a bit cheaper than aftermarket. I'm going OEM - buy online, pick up at the dealer to save shipping costs.

Basic question - are you guys and gals using thread locker (Loctite etc) on the bolts holding on your skid plates? If so I would assume mid strength as they may need to be moved for oil changes.

No thread locker, just torque them to the prescribed 27 ft lbs!

Well guys. I just installed the Skid plates from Rough Country. Two things: I am very happy with their product and customer service. Here is the link id you guys want to check them out. The fact the hole to chamge the oil filter and change the oil os very generous is a big plus. That way I do not have to remove them. Easy installation. I will upload pics. Sorry, I did not take any pictures. Here is the link:

$180? Dang that is a good price! Everything lined up properly? How much does it weigh? How long did it take you to install? Did you use the stock fasteners/bolts from the factory plastic skid plate?

The one possible issue I see with it is there is a pretty large shoulder where the two plates join which may cause it to hang up on rocks, whereas a smooth one piece design may just slide over.

Everything lined up perfectly. It weighs about 20 lbs the whole set. No concerns at all. After the installation I checked the line up. No space between them which means no rocks getting in there. I’m am pretty happy with how everything fell into place. It tool me no more than 20 min. Very easy. Now, I think they can improve on the instructions becase the pictures are black and white. Other than that everything is very simple.

tempted to get this and return my incoming Trailhunter one. Mainly because of the access points but that price point definitely helps!
looking forward to your pics.
