Has anyone banged up the skid plates on an OR or ORP? Obviously metal would be tougher, but are the composite ones completely useless? Is there some range of terrain/difficulty where they are actually a good solution?

I was thinking the same thing I think they used it for weight reduction, but they seem kind of strong. I haven’t hit the trails yet with them, but I’m interested in the rival plate and the TRD plate.

Just bumping this thread, curious if anyone has some experience banging on these skid plates by now?

I wouldn't want to bang it on anything other than a small mammal crossing the road. Ive seen videos of people bending them like a piece of cardboard after upgrading.
