Has anybody used this tool to replace springs? Will the supplied forks fit the springs?

That looks like it should work fine, just for the record the factory orp coils are spongy little pogo stick springs. That's why people complain that they're so bouncy. The Bilstein shocks are not all that bad when paired with a proper coil spring.

I have a Madox coil compressor which is pretty stout but it is fiddly because you have to torque them down independently.

I invested in the Vevor brand for strut coil compression.
$125 bucks, it's a floor mounted unit that you press your foot down on. Makes any kind of coil compression the most simple process and safer.

But really, the big difference is in safety, meaning as long as the compressor has some type of locking mechanism for the coil spring you're pretty safe.
