I personally haven't tried one, but if the dimensions are similar to the Vaultek I'd imagine you can use it no problem. The higher you put the passenger side seat, the more height you have to stow
Ordered StopBox. I'll follow up this weekend!

Dumb question for you given that you're a gun owner and all I'd imagine. What's your take on not having a full "locking" mechanism like Stopbox? I understand the audience for it, but I'm from a state that's very not gun friendly so the general best practice for us is to always lock it up in some manner.

I know Stopbox allows you to configure the patterns in which you press down the options but that's fairly simple no?

Tho I suppose the 4 digits on your Vaultek would be a similar action. Anyways - just looking for opinions. Many thanks!

I simply view it as an analog version of the LifePod. No worries about batteries.

I've never held a StopBox in my hands, but if I find it's not durable/safe enough in comparison to other locked storage, I will not use it.

I am also in New Hampshire which does not have any specific law requiring handgun storage in a vehicle.

I like the idea of not worrying about batteries and the neutral look of the StopBox. To the untrained eye it just looks like a box, rather than a mini safe with clear number pads for a code.

I emailed Console Vault and asked them if the new 4Runner vaults they sell would fit a regular sized pistol like a Glock 19 or a SW Compact 9mm and they said yes. I tried the console without a vault and with a hip holster my Glock 19 would fit into the console. I'm still thinking about it as I have multiple different lock boxes over the years and none of them will fit under the Limited seats. In the past when I got to work I've put the gun in the dash and just locked it in there until I got off. Not the best solution but better than nothing as I can't lock it up in my office either.

I have the console vault in my 4R. I can fit a Kimber Mako R7 with a red dot but you have to contort it a bit to get it in there. Same with a S&W Performance Center Model 19 Carry Comp, but again have to contort it a bit.

I have two stop boxes but have not tried them in the 4R. I’ll have to see if they fit.

Definitely let us know how it goes/fits! Very interested in one myself for the same reasons you listed. Very good idea, just not sure about actual application

I would ask them if it fits your 19 with the red dot and flashlight attached on there. If you don't have one great, but I'd imagine most carriers these days have them on their platforms.

Also have you tried raising the seats up heightwise and sliding in the lockbox from the back of the passenger seat?

I have a Console Vault Digital Lock and I can store my Sig P365 XMACRO Comp with red dot sights, flash light, and holstered in it fine. You just have to lay it down width wise and not deep wise.
