I did not pull mine out to see if it is molded that way, but it looks like it is
on mine, it is perfectly seamless and tight where it makes the little zigzag
into the channel...so it looks like intentional and not just a misguided strip

I would like to see a new uninstalled strip to know for sure...as I am not
going to be pulling any seals to peek at why mine is like that.

Yup, looks like shit, mine are like this too. I think the best course of action is to put in a complaint at the dealership so it is on the record, tell them to wait a while longer, like a year, then have them replaced. Gives them time to update the part.... if they do, or if they come out with a bulletin.

Well I went out there and checked it, and mine is perfectly tight on both back windows and front windows. Typical 4Runner window seal. Yours does look odd. I took a picture for comparison. Mine is an orp.
