I recently bought my 4Runner TRD PRO in Oklahoma and need to register it in Texas.
The dealer already included Texas sales tax in my purchase. I also ordered vanity plates from 'My Plates,' which should be arriving soon.
It's been three weeks since I bought the vehicle. What should my next steps be for registration? Has anyone been through this process before and can offer some guidance?
Appreciate any help. Thank you!!

i bought mine in Oklahoma, it required nothing extra from me. I had an OK temp tag and my and my Texas tags were mailed to the dealer, then dealer sent them to me. If taxes are paid and registration is paid, you're good.

We bought our 4 Runner in Texas and live in Colorado. Our paperwork sat at the dealership title clerk's desk for 5 weeks and when I called it was because our insurance card didn't have our address on it (not required in Colorado). Oh, she said, I guess I can call the insurance company to get your coverage then and then send it to our 3rd party title vendor for review. Then it gets sent to Colorado and back to Texas and then to you. I called our county clerk to see if that was really how it worked and it was, but she shouldn't have had it on her desk for 5 weeks - they sold us the car and had our phone number! Our temp ran out the same day the plates arrived from Texas - 2 months time frame. I asked her how we were supposed to drive our car and she said she would overnight or email a new temp to us but couldn't until the temp tag expired. However, we got our title in the mail prior to that and were able to get the plates we wanted before the plates arrived from Texas. Very lazy work by the dealership .... and frustrating as the customer.

I waited about four weeks after buying my car in Georgia. They took care of everything for me. The Florida plates showed up in the mail, and then I headed to the DMV later to grab my specialty plates. I double checked with the clerks and made sure all the title and tax stuff was good to go.
