I was under the truck the other day and noticed that the spare not only is the same exact tire as the stock set, but has an actual alloy wheel instead of a steelie!??? I have never in my life seen that in a vehicle. Pretty sick. Toyota really under sold that feature. Anyone know if any other trims are like that?

Do any come with a steelie? My SR5 came with a smaller wheel and tire but it's still an alloy wheel.

I have had mine for a month only, been to busy to start digging but noticed the spare is not a steelie and have been wondering if it is the same wheel or a cheap version. Happy to know!

I have an SR5, it came with a matching aluminum wheel, but it was narrower and had a temporary 'donut' tire. I replaced it immediately with a closely matching wheel and full sized tire (I upgraded to larger KO2s at the dealership) and it cost around $350 for the set up.
Just FYI, take a close look, both of my buddys bought new trucks, one a Ford and the other a Chevy. Both trucks had a full size spare, but they were slightly smaller than the ones on the truck and marked as Temporary, 65mph max. Not good, we got stuck in the middle of a 1400 mile trip trying to find a spare and get back on the road. They thought they had full sized spares, but all they had was crap that would leave them stranded. I hope toyota is doing a little better than that.

Oh whoa, Now I need to drop the spare and actually look at it... Did your Sr5 wheel look the same as the others just narrower!?

I doubt it matches. If he has an SR5 then it's going to be like the picture I posted above. The left is the stock wheel with a different tire (I put together a full size spare for myself with a new stock wheel and the same aftermarket tire I have on the other 4), the right is the stock spare wheel and tire that came on my SR5 which was delivered 7-14-25.

I have seen a different style though. Someone else claims that this was the spare on their SR5. The shape of the spokes is different than mine.

The rim for the stock spare matches the rims on the vehicle which I like, unfortunately it in only about 5 inches wide so you can't put a real tire on it. Since I upgraded to the 265/70/R17 KO2 tires, I needed to replace the whole thing. I just found another aluminum wheel that was close and a cheaper AT Tire the same size. Mounted underneath just fine. Remember to buy new lug nuts for the spare since the angle on the lugs is different from the stock wheels.

My ORP spare is the same tire (Falken) and the alloy TRD OR rim which did surprise me. Unfortunately it does not match the optional TRD rims that my ORP came with but I didnt really expect it would.

That surprises me because the tire rotation schedule includes moving the spare to the right rear and right front to the spare. Seems weird to have a mismatched wheel 2/3rds of the time.

If it's narrower, then it doesn't match. Which is it? I don't believe the wheel actually matches (the outward facing appearance) the rest of the wheels. Pics or it didn't happen. And do you have SR5 or some other trim level?

And what in the world are you talking about different angle on the spare lugs? The vehicle obviously ships with a spare that uses the same lugs as the rest of the vehicle, or else it would ship with special nuts yto go with the spare, which it does not. Your truck shipped with a spare you can't use? No way. I decline to believe it. Take another look at your stuff and get your story straight please.
