Yea, I had that thought thinking about it all on the drive home from work. Fair point for sure.
It does feel like I'm in the minority of people though who want to build in adventure features, but adventure with a car full of family.

Yup, my wife and girls go with us on pretty much every trip! The girls are 12 and 9 and have been going on overlanding trips since infancy, so they're not very sensitive to the noise, but I can image it'd be a great way to wake up a baby!

The only person in my family that I can still get to go with me is my oldest daughter who is now in college

Sadly, I can see that scenario as a future possibility for me too...

I’m sure there are a bunch of folks that would benefit from the onboard air build out but I’ve always been able to easily refill my low tires with a small recharge system like this.

Those are definitely cool systems, I've been using this Milwaukee one quite a bit, and we make a pretty sweet mount for it as well, but I have found myself needing to air up multiple vehicles at the trailhead and have ended up needing multiple batteries. This is where the hardwired compressor steals the show!

In case there are some folks that aren't watching the other thread, here are some updated photos and info on the power/OBA options we'll have for our 6th gen platform.

I wanted to make sure tolerances were good enough for the Mil-Spec coating that we'll offer it in, so I got this one coated. It turned out great!

I also built the first working prototypes of the accessory trays. I only ran into one hitch in the process. The batteries I chose (EcoWorthy 30ah) are just a touch too tall and don't clear the access door latches. We have some new ones coming in that are supposedly shorter, so this may be a non issue. In the meantime, I built a, "block off plate" that will bolt in to cover the hole. Since there isn't really any regular maintenance to do on the battery components, and everything coming from it will be wired remotely, there's not really a reason that I see for this needing to be "quick access". If there is a problem, or a fuse blows, it's just a few 3mm allen-headed bolts to get to it. This panel also allows the floor to be completely flat.

I will likely offer the accessory trays in two options.

- A power tray, that will have mounting provisions for the two batteries, a RedArc BCDC1225d charger, MIDI fuse holder, and (2) 2post buss bars.
- An OBA tray, or onboard air tray, that will have mounting provisions for the brushed AND brushless ARB dual compressor, as well as the components for their Pressure Control System. This option will also include the switch/coupler bracket that will live in factory jack compartment, as well as the braided hoses and fittings to hook it all up, the "connection kit" we'll likely call it. I haven't finished this bracket yet, so there aren't any photos of it yet, but I'm trying to make it as clean as possible.

I can't wait to get this all wired and plumbed to go out and do some testing! I'd love to hear what everyone thinks about it!

The onboard 300W inverter in the console is junk for the non-hybrid versions (non-pure sine wave) and I have a 300W victron inverter I want to use (or even an 1500W version). Instead of putting the air compressor here, I’d rather do electronics. My question was - when you pulled up the carpet was it glued? Looks pretty clean …

id rather do (4) batteries , proper inverter with some other victron bits I have and do the compressor in the engine bay for my needs.

This looks awesome and can’t wait !

Agreed. The trays could be used for whatever you'd like. At the end of the day, they're just a flat alum surface that anything could be mounted to so long as it fits under platform.

No, the carpet wasn't glued at all. After removing the factory tiedowns, it just comes out.
