Old Gas Pump

[Mother Goose]

I came across this old gas pump and thought maybe someone on this forum might have an idea of its vintage or what it is. On the base, it’s marked PS-4 but if I Google that term I get 1,000’s of things about Play Stations. The dispenser is not original.

The object in the images appears to be a vintage Gilbert & Barker (Gilbarco) Model T-8 Self-Measuring Pre-Visible Gas Pump (commonly nicknamed the "Fat Lady"), manufactured around the 1910s to 1920s.

Key Features

• • Design: Rounded, heavy cast-iron body with a curbside pedestal base.
  • Function: Pre-visible mechanical fuel pump used before glass-cylinder visible pumps became popular.
  • Era: Produced by Gilbert & Barker Manufacturing Co. (later known as Gilbarco) out of Springfield, Massachusetts.
  • I hope this is helpful
I’ve included a link to a similar pump on EBay, so you have an idea of its worth
