Inside, AWE’s patented drone-canceling 180 Technology® keeps the cabin calm while a rear-mounted, precision-tuned resonator shapes the tone to produce a rich, deep, and perfectly balanced note through the entire rev range.

Capping it all off is AWE’s reinforced BashGuard™. That’s the .125”-thick stainless ring protecting the exhaust outlet, tucked high out of harm’s way, providing an additional 2.75” of clearance compared to the factory exhaust. Thanks to the 0FG’s elevated design, contact with terrain is nearly impossible, but if it ever happens, BashGuard™ takes the hit, not your exhaust.

Perfect tone, compliments of AWE 180 Technology®:
Keeping the aggression at the rear of the 4Runner, and out of the cabin, is AWE’s patented drone-canceling solution, 180 Technology®.

2025 4runner 6th gen [Now Available] AWE Exhaust for the 6th Gen Toyota 4Runner 2.4T 3015-28056_20

As exhaust gasses exit the 2.4T engine and flow into an AWE 180 Technology®-equipped resonator, they pass through strategically located ports and into reflection chambers. Sound waves carried by these exhaust gasses bounce off the walls of the reflection chambers. By controlling the size and location of the ports and chambers, we also control when the sound waves exit the chambers. The specific timing of when the reflected sound waves rejoin the main exhaust flow creates a one-hundred-and-eighty-degree out-of-phase sound wave that cancels out problematic frequencies.

Full-bodied aggression remains behind the driver, and complete comfort is achieved in the cabin at cruising speeds, all while unlocking a superior soundtrack and optimal flow compared to stock.

Great seeing AWE exhaust coming for the 6G4R I've had multiple of your exhaust systems on past vehicles. Always appreciated the quality of the exhaust construction and of course the extra sounds. When is full sound clips coming ?

Any power gains seen? I’m not sure what the OEM pipe diameter is but if it flows better it should do something I would guess.

This is cool. The exhaust on this 4R seems very DIY friendly.

Also, I can’t seem to escape AWE, ECS, APR, etc. My other car is a Golf R an AWE as adored by that crowd.

At launch, we’ll share a full video with sound clips across multiple driving scenarios so you can get an accurate feel for the system. 🎵😎

Nice to see AWE releasing something for us! Had one in my MK7.5 GTI, and it was easily the he’s sounding and quality compared.

looking forward to the various amounts of sound clips for the 4R

We will update this thread with the full details on launch day, we are just working out some final details behind the scenes.

For someone who may know...there are two noise-cancelling devices on most, but not all, 4 Runner exhausts, including the factory exhaust. The mid and the tailpipe sections each have one. Some aftermarket sets only have the mid, and just a pipe where the current OE muffler sits. Is the mid-mounted device enough, why have an additional muffler behind the axle at all?

So no performance gain?
Catback systems usually provide a "handful of horsepower" but support other power-add modifications very well. In order to get a dyno reading the vehicle must be able to perform a power run. We have not ran an equipped vehicle at this time.

We include dyno data on all systems we are able to dyno a vehicle for, the listing as well as this post will be updated if anything changes.
