Hi everyone,
Like many of you waiting for (or setting up) the new 6th Gen, I’m planning my build. We all know Toyotas are built to last, but let's be honest—their security tech lags behind the likes of Tesla/Rivian.
I do a lot of hiking and camping, and my biggest stress is always leaving the rig unattended at the trailhead for hours or days.
I represent LAMTTO, and we’ve been working on a solution that fits the Overlanding lifestyle: The LAMTTO DC22 4G LTE Dashcam.
Why I think this matters for 4Runner owners:
Remote "Check-Ins": Instead of worrying if your window has been smashed while you are 5 miles up a trail, you can open the app and see a live view (as long as there is cell service at the trailhead).
Instant Alerts: The radar detection is proactive. If someone is lurking around your truck trying to steal your MaxTrax or roof gear, you get an alert before they even touch the car.
Cloud Backup: If the worst happens and they break in, the footage is uploaded to the cloud instantly. They can't just steal the SD card to hide the evidence.
2-Way Audio: Scaring off a thief (or maybe a bear? just kidding) remotely.
The Setup: It runs off the OBD-II port, so it’s plug-and-play. No splicing into the factory harness of your brand-new truck. It has low-voltage protection, so it won’t kill your starter battery (crucial when you are in the middle of nowhere).
Discussion: For those planning their 6G builds:
Are you relying on factory security?
Or do you prefer offline setups to avoid the recurring cost?
I’m happy to answer any technical questions about power consumption or installation!
