My first 4Runner: 2025 ORP (Underground) build

Hey everyone,

Got my ORP back in March and after spending some time with it, decided to make some mods/upgrades. This is my daily driver and also what my wife and I will use for our once or twice per year trips. In fact, we just spent 10 days camping in SE Utah earlier this month. The 4Runner has been a lot of fun and we made good use of almost everything on this trip (except the winch and other recovery gear, thankfully)!

Here's what I started with:

2025 ORP (non-hybrid)

17" Black Rhino Stadium +35 offset wheels
35x12.5 Toyo AT3 tires (35's / 35")
Prinsu Pro Roof Rack, window panels, and ladder
Cali Raised internal molle panels and shelves
CBI low profile front bumper
Warne EVO 10s winch
ARB dual compressor w/ Bullet Proof Fab. mount
BD XL linkable light bar
BD XL ditch lights
BD SAE fog lights (in bumper)
BD S2 Sport scene lights
Garmin PowerSwitch + Blaze Offroad wiring harnesses for lights and compressor
Dirtcom TrailSwing tire carrier

As far as plans for future mods, I've got some more SAE fog lights that I'll swap in for the factory fog lights. I'll do that at the same time the Trailhunter front grille comes in .

A couple photos showing our camping setup inside the truck:

The water tank is a 26 gallon. I've got it connected to a pump that splits the water to both my Joolca water heater for showering, and a cold water line for drinking water to fill our water bottles. Behind it and on the sides is quite a bit of empty space where we'd normally have a duffel bag with our clothes and a smaller toiletry bag. There's also a portable toilet folded up (grey colored object just to the top left of the water tank in the photo).

Not as slick as the custom fabricated slide outs and drawers, but this setup does what I need it to do. The drawers have our kitchen stuff, food, and propane. The only mod I'd like to do for this area is run DC power so I can plug in the Jackery and have it charge while we're driving.

Wow! That looks great. Have a quick question on your power draw for your light bar and ditch lights. Have you checked what kind of power draw you have on that when they are on? Just wondering if you have another power source for them. If it's too lengthy of a question I understand. Thanks in advance.

No problem - easy question! The light bar draws about 25-27 amps, and the ditch lights draw 6-8 amps. I haven’t given any thought to an alternate power source, primarily because I don’t expect prolonged use of those lights when driving, and I’d never use them when the vehicle isn’t running.

What's your impression of the westcott lift so far? Any Plans to upgrade to coils at any point? I'm going back and forth on whether the lift is sufficient or go with an OME setup.

I've been very happy with the Westcott lift. I have about 5,500 miles on it. My use is 95% paved roads and 5% offroad. Day to day driving in town, there's very little change from factory ride (and TBH, whatever small change I perceive may just be placebo effect). I should have measured the rear before I added stuff so that I would be able to accurately measure sagging, but I didn't. So I can't quantify it, but it definitely sags if you have stuff on your roof, in the cargo area, and a spare tire carrier. I was at 6500 lbs. and definitely felt like the rear was spongy offroad . If I decide to stay with the Westcott, I might add Timbren bump stops as extra insurance.

Like you, I'm on the fence about stepping up to the OME. I did just get the MT64 kit but I'm waiting on installing it.
