Has anyone put a Midland 75-822 in yet? I had one in my old truck with a FireStik on my roof basket to a 12v in the center console. Really clean and out of the way. The 4runner has the 12v by the shifter and was even thinking of using a weak through the glass antenna but I am not sure if any of it is worth it. The alternative is getting a cable up to the ARB 3/4 rack. I am not even sure where to mount my hand mic. Has anyone used of these little radios?

I used the grommet in the firewall to run the coax from my roof rack antenna mount. I used the in cab pigtail in the drivers side footwell to power the box. I have it mounted underneath the passenger side seat with a midland magnetic mount for the mic.

I am also running a Midland MXT575 with a NPT Thread hood mount. Using the 3dB antenna Im getting over 7KM talking range in city and much more then 30KM on open highway. I also run a 6db antenna that i keep in the rear trunk compartment if i need to get further range, but honestly the range im getting right now is unbelievably good with the 3db stubby.

I installed mine under the drivers seat and ran the mic hand held along centre console with mic holder very similar to how TurnerXC mounted his (but on driver side rather then passenger side). The install was easy and fast and there was more then enough room to go through fire wall on coax cable running.

3db stubby works quite well!

I have my GMRS license and really never hear ANYTHING plus I have my tech license and just hear the same crew all-day, every-day! Thats why I was thinking of going back to CB... Works in close range and get the rowdy truckers on the road.
