Hello everyone,

I installed the MB quart speakers for the dash, front, and rear doors on my SR5 and wanted to give feedback in case anyone wanted this kit. Overall, it’s a great kit. I know a lot of people will go with trail grid pro but I don’t really like the brightness of alpine. This kit ran me $439 for all speakers. I got a discount code by calling.

You need the TS1-2810 and the TC1-118. Everything is plug and play and everything fit perfectly.

I paired it with the beat sonic amp because I installed that first and turned off the active noise cancellation. In my opinion it sounds better than the JBL premium. It’s very clear, not too bright, and plenty loud.

Feel free to ask questions. Hopefully this gives others another option over what else is out there.

Right on bro. I grew up an mb quart/Boston acoustic fan. I went with the kenwood 7" excelon kfc-x183c component speakers/matching rear. They have a silk dome and are mounted in the dash. They are not loud enough or bright enough for me. I have them on an alpine r-a60f amp. I like the highs that make my eyes blink every time they hit. Waiting for someone to drop a high output alternator over 300 amps

Another MB quart fan here. I’ve had a couple sets in my home for years, I think they are underrated and sound as good as a lot of speakers that cost twice as much.

good choice.

by the way, how do you turn off the active noise cancellation. I think it’s interfering with my stock radio in my forerunner. There are times the music just doesn’t sound good, kind of distorted, and I wonder if that’s the problem.

Carista, or ask your dealership to do it.

I used Carista. I was getting some weird feedback from the radio when it was on.

Thanks for the suggestion, guys. All I want to do is turn off the ANC and the seatbelt chime. I’m assuming the base model, the $30 one, will do that for me. Have you guys used the base model or the more expensive one that is $70? I noticed both have a subscription fee, but one month would be more than enough for me.

I thought when I was reading about the ANC, they were saying you dont need to cancel it on this model because it dosen't use audio for the ANC, instead it use mechanical. I dont remember where I was reading that. Could of been from chat gbt so I dont know how accurate it is. Ill probably end up buying the Carista and see what difference it makes.

I was getting some type of interference in my stereo with the new speakers but when I killed both the ANC and the artificial engine noise, it went away. I guess it could have been the artificial engine noise but not sure. I am curious if anyone else knows because I would turn the ANC back on if there isn’t an issue.

The interference you're talking about, does it have like a low almost static sound? You can hear it clearly at 0 volume, up to like 5 or so when the music plays over top of it and you cant hear it anymore? Im experiencing that issue right now.

I would say it sounded a little static like but it was subtle. I still don’t know the root cause. I just know it’s gone now. Wish I could be more help.

The sound I’m talking about is just the music itself sounding distorted. Kinda like a raspy, static sort of sound riding on top of the music. The louder you turn it up, the worse the music sounds.

The vehicle has microphones in the cabin that pick up the noise and send it to the ANC processor that produces an audio wave 180° out of phase to cancel out the unwanted noise. The frequency that the ANC produces is then sent through the vehicle audio speakers.

Lots of places have these systems. Large buildings use them in their HVAC system to cancel out harmonics and noise in the air ducts.

Music distortion is inevitable if you’re sending other audio frequencies through the same speakers as the stereo.
