Is Toyota false advertising (full size spare tire in TRD Sport Premium)?

Just wanted to share this personal experience to make sure you guys don't get scammed.

I recently bought the TRD Sport Premium under the impression that it would come with a Full Sized Spare Tire since Toyota's official spec sheet says it comes with it as standard equipment. However when I actually looked under, it came with a temporary donut spare. When I contacted Toyota about this misinformation, they were like "The 4Runner TRD Sport Premium i-FORCE 2.4L 4-Cyl. Turbo Engine Part-time 4-Wheel Drive does not come with a full side spare tire and that is due to give better gas miles on the i-FORCE." They refused to fix or provide the correct spare. This is especially annoying for me cause I travel a lot and a full sized spare is an essential requirement.

Just letting you guys know in case anyone believes they have a full sized spare even if they actually don't. I honestly feel like Toyota won't care (or even fix their website) unless more owners let them know of their mistake to prevent future owners from being misled.

related issue with the 2022-2023 tundra with the tundra passenger mirror being auto dimming. its listed on website and brouchure but only the drivers side was auto dimming. (and i was not happy with our platinum not have a passenger dimming mirror)

in 2024 they removed that tidbit from the website and other places saying only drivers side dims now

At best that is laziness by Toyota not keeping the web details up to date and announcing changes with dates. This is close to being a scam, switch and bait. Shame on you Toyota.

I remember the SR5 with all the test reviewers saying it had heated seat.... NOT.

Sadly, I am back to buying a Ford F150 5.0 V* when I was about to purchase a Tundra..

I filed a complaint to Consumer Affairs for false advertising but I'm not sure how far it would go...

I too have the 6G TRD Sport Premium. I upgraded to 275/55/R20 Nitto Ridge Grappler tires. Just looked at my spare. It appears full size but is labeled temporary use only.

Bought mine in transit, took delivery end of Sept. There is a spec sheet maybe 7 pages for each vehicle. It details options, pricing, and all important components. I printed mine before it was delivered and in there is "temporary spare tire".
If you can get that it and it shows full size it may help your cause, if nothing else possible compensation.

I have a full size spare in my TRD off road. I know because I just ran over a screw and got a flat at work. In fact it's the same alloy wheel as the others.

it'll go nowhere so don't waste time. you were not a victim of false advertisement.
