I am preparing for my winch system and have begun to find getting a grp 31 battery is not possible in the gen 6, even a grp 34 is likely to big. Sounds like a 27 is about is big as we can get in the rear battery compartment now.

All this being said, on my gen 5 iv done significant winching that usually burned down my grp 34 in 10-15 minutes requiring a 15 minute rest before i could winch again. Seeing that the largest battery we can likely get in the gen 6 is a 27 i suspect my winch time is going to go down to 8 minutes max.

im trying to research what the total amps are that the 12V battery gets charged at to see if the gen 6 can handle winching on a smaller battery. If the hybrid model is pumping 200+ amps into the 12V battery then the winch draw concern is negligible, but if were less then 100 i may need to research a secondary battery system in the back just to handle my winching.
Any help from current owners would be greatly appreciated.

Pretty sure when I looked up the alternator it specified 165. But I'm not 100%.

i think you mean amps, but that definitely helps guide me. I could not find any stats though online.

Just for fun I tried Chat GPT...it found no definitive information, but many people quote a capacity of 100-120A from the hybrid DC-DC converter. That is partly based on a 120A fuse for that circuit, so that does make sense. Seems reasonable as well. Would be nice to have a definitive answer though.
