Well, I've had my 4Runner for 14 months before I got my first imperfection. I scraped my rim on the side of a curb. I don't remember the exact moment, but most of you can relate. I'm always parking as close to the curb on the passenger side as possible to lower the chances of getting a door ding from someone on the drivers side. It's not too bad, about 8 inches long. Most wouldn't notice, but I do.

I've seen some threads on here about touch up paint for scrapes on the actual paint. Does such a thing exist for rims? Is there anything I can do outside of getting a black sharpie marker out? Thanks in advance.

This is a problem that's old as time. You can bring it to a body shop to get it fixed. They will sand, even it out with putty & paint match.

Or, there's plenty of DIY videos in YT to fix the curb rash. Remove wheel, cover tires, sand, & paint.

Thank God I have 275 tires in this wheel!

Purchase yourself a black paint pen. I had several Honda Talons that the wheels were always getting bunged up from sideswiping rocks and trees. Good easy fix. Never will be perfect but completely unnoticeable unless you enter it in a concours event.

Thanks. I'll try that first. Appreciate your time.

Thanks for the advice. I'll probably try a black paint pen first and if I'm not satisfied I'll look up a body shop. Appreciate your time.

If you're worried, grab a black permeant marker and a towel to wipe off the excess. The marker will eventually wear away but will give you same result. If you can't find a black paint pen, reach out as we have the good ones at work

The black paint pen solved my issue. You can still see where I scraped the rim in this zoomed in picture, but when you look at it from a few feet away you can't even see where it was. All is good. Special thank you to @Scrappopatamus who went above and beyond to help a total stanger. There's some good dudes on this forum.
