The rear door opening/lower rear corner of the door is a terrible design. It catches tons of splash from the rear tires. I believe in a few years we’ll be seeing rust spots develop there. They should have at least extended the fender flare down further.

I made up a mini mudflap to hopefully prevent this. After removing two 10mm bolts in the fender liner, it slips inside the liner. The bolts are then replaced.

I’ll be doing something along the same lines at the rear edge of the front wheel opening to fill the gap between the fender flare and mudflap.

I would be interested in a better solution if anybody has one!

Are you worried about moisture and debris getting tightly stuck there between the metal you’re talking about and the flap?

Can u share the dimension on a PDF so that we can print & trace it? I'd greatly appreciate it & share the same frustrated issue with you on a white car. 🙏🙏

Mainly just the lower corner of the door, which is unprotected. The actual piece of the body that meets the door is a plastic piece.

Well, it appears my scanner has taken a dump so I can't produce a life-size pattern for you. You should be able to use this pic to make your own pattern from some thin cardboard (like from a cereal box). Take the two bolts out and experiment till you're happy. You may come up with something better! Good Luck.
