Headlight beam under the hood?

I keep seeing a 4Runner in town 6th gen and it has headlights but also a beam / string connecting them looks like it’s under the hood or something want to know what mod it is looks good can’t find a picture or what it’s even called any ideas I know some different brands of newer cars have it standard.
