toyota plastic cover over the MID screen has always been an issue and not just the 4R. my 2014 limited screen was easily scratched even with a brand new microfiber cloth that was never used out of the package.

even rubbing it with your finger can scratch it.

on the protech screen protector, over do it with the application bottle fluid when installing it. too much is just enough and barely at that. learned the hard way on the 23 tundra and i was lucky i bought the 2nd set kit add on for $15

I took my cluster out so they could make a template?!

You removed your cluster in 15 minutes? Which trim pieces did you remove? Someone posted earlier in the thread that you had to remove the majority of the interior so I was hoping we could help the OP. Thanks,

You are correct, it’s not the arm rest it’s the assembly around the shifter, #2 “console box assembly” is required for removal. Here is also the quote from Toyota to do the replacement.
