I just happened to be at the dealership today and mentioned this TSB. Unfortunately the parts are on back order, but I have an appointment later this month to hopefully address the noise.

Just be warned the back order of parts has no estimated date for when parts will make it in. They will order them for you but won’t be able to estimate when the fix will be able to take place
Good to know. I'll look into getting an oder in quickly. Hopefully my area has some.

If I were you, drive on your current ones a dn wait so you can get brand new pads right before your warranty is up.
I’m just curious to see if this actually fixes the issue or if it happens again. If it’s the latter, I will absolutely wait 30k miles to have fresh pads put on.

Yup, they just estimated the time for me, if they’re not in- no biggie.

Hmm... so I don't have this backup squeal like I've seen in videos but I do hear a very slight squeal while driving. It's not related to braking. It doesn't get worse when braking. It does seem to get a bit louder when making a right turn. These kind of noises are hard to pinpoint. Could it be dust in the brakes? Bearings? (I hope not).

For sure. Me Too. Personally, I think some models got the wrong shims or the batch of shims that were installed on some models were simply too long. Couple that with maybe forgetting a bit of grease, and you get the squeal. Once they put the correct shims on with a bit of grease, you won't have the problem again.

If you order the parts by yourself and replace them yourselves and properly grease them, it will cost you like $20 in shims and grease, and when the time comes down the road, go get new brakes right before you hit 3yrs or 36K. ;)

My dealer said minimum of 4 to 6 weeks until they get the parts. He did sound like he was just saying that to say something. Mentioned they have about 1000 they are waiting for, which I find a little hard to believe but who knows.

Mine only squeals in reverse when the vehicle is cold. Called my closest dealer and was told my VIN was not listed for the TSB repair. Huh? I didn't want to leave my daily drive there for a couple days for them to figure it out.

Mine did the same thing and I explained to them the TSB states all 2025 4Runners that are having the issues of squealing in reverse had to explain to them that I had the TSB in front of me could send it to them to see and after telling them that the all of a sudden found it. They told me to take it in for inspection and replaced all parts today.
