Just picked up my SR5 from the shop. I had them install Firestone Coil-Rite Airbags in rear coils.
With stock suspension, the rear end sagged 2” when loaded with camping gear and e-bikes on a hitch rack. I estimate that load to be 600 lbs., with added leverage from bikes on a longer hitch rack that puts about 150 lbs. behind the hitch. I’d easily bottom the rear shocks onto the bump stops on forest service roads and even on buckled paved roads. Long term I’ll probably install a lift kit with heavier duty coils, but until those are out on the market and proven, this will work as an interim solution.

Kit number is 4135. Some websites will say they aren’t compatible with 6th gen, but Firestones website says they are, and they’re correct.

I had a shop do the install because I don’t have a floor jack or Jack stands. They followed the kit instructions, which entailed removing wheels, rear shock lower mounts, brake line brackets and panhard rod. Seems like overkill, but I don’t blame them for doing it by the book. There are lots of YT tutorials where DIYers compress and fold the airbags to squeeze in between coils. No cuts were required b/c the bump stops on the ‘25s are much shorter than Gen5. Hope this helps!

Bringing this thread back to life!

doing my order tomorrow as well. Was hoping to confirm from your experience a few things.

1) at 5psi is the ride factory?

2) when aired up how long do you find your going before you need to re fill to needed psi?

3) when aired up are you seeing a level ride when towing your full kit or is there sag still?

4) where did you mount the Shrader valves?

thanks so much

Great! I’d say the ride is factory at 5 psi. Keep in mind I have a 75 lb bike rack attached 95% of the time.
Re-inflation, the left bag almost never needs a top off, while the right side I check every couple weeks, and it usually needs a few psi.
They really work for leveling and reducing bottom out. Very pleased there.
The shop mounted the valves on the bottom surface of the bumper (I’ll post a pic later today). There’s another spot near the hitch that looked promising and I’ll post that pic too. All in all I’m pleased with the performance, and the fact that it’ll work with aftermarket lift kits (future upgrade) is a bonus as well.

This is awesome, i carry a 4000+ lb trailer off road. knowing i can level my Gen 6 off and allow more travel on the shocks makes me feel better till i fully decide on a final build as well.

Would love to see the photos of mount locations for the valves.

Thanks very much @time2playandy

Pic one is an option. There’s two pre-drilled holes on either side of hitch. Pic two is my set up, left side shown
