Anyone have one? Internet search says they are available at dealer discretion installation. Sounds like a non-intrusive installation in a casting hole. I have them in all my vehicles for the occasional cold night parked outside where temps go -20 and below. Ill use them anytime after -15 for peace of mind.

meh, i stopped using them on the 14 4R limited in ND. as long as you daily drive it, i dont have an issue getting it to start up (especially with the oem battery, had more issues with aftermarket ones for some odd reason)

never had an issue with the 18 tundra or the 23 tundra since they both sat outside 24/7/365 with the oem batteries either.

but if they sit for longer than 1-2 days in -20F or colder, you will need to put a charger on them or drive them around from what i have seen on the tundra.

again back to daily driving it will keep the battery charged and keep the cells from freezing somewhat.

I can confirm that in Fairbanks Alaska it has been -40° F for several nights, and my winterization package has been flawless. I have small heating pads siliconed to the oil pans. 1 each on engine oil, and transmission. Probably 100w each. One battery heat pad which is probably 75w. I plan to add an on-board battery trickle charger as well. Those have always extended the life of the battery. no need for a block heater.

I have the Toyota block heater. Works great in the -30c we have only dealt with for a bit where I live in Canada.

I have gone with the heated pads others have mentioned too on different vehicles and they work great as well.
