I have the Toyota block heater. Works great in the -30c we have only dealt with for a bit where I live in Canada.
I have gone with the heated pads others have mentioned too on different vehicles and they work great as well.
I have taken my SR5 on a bunch of trails and spots that made me nervous for my skill level and 4lo was extremely impressive and got me through no issues. I donāt think I will wheel hard enough to need a locker which is why I went SR5 vs OR but this thing is still impressive.
TFL did a slip...
Dang! Happy it wasnāt a worse situation but that still sounds like it left you in a lurch. Hopefully one of those times in life that is a good laugh over a beer later on!
Please do gerryt I hope itās just that simple.
VB4 that is something else wow! Hopefully covered under warranty? Still doesnāt help you get off the trail and any trouble that caused. There is a story to go with that Iām sure? Hope that gets resolved easy.
It was a metallic clunk for sure, I was certain it was the suspension until I figured I should pop the hood and noticed the clunk just before I did. (For whatever reason I pushed down near the headlight)
I came up on just the drivers side, maybe a full turn. I shut the hood a couple times and...
I ran Hakka LT3 (non studded) on my Tacoma for a number of winters and they were fantastic. Last winter we had a lot more ice and they still did a great job, but being 5 years old Iām changing to Nokian studded just to give them a try. Canadian winters and I live in a town with a lot of hills so...
Specially if you go with something that needs to be reapplied like Krown, fluid film, etc. worst case you can hit the car wash a bunch and wash it all away. I canāt see anything temporary being an issue and my dealer said they are a good idea.
Over the past few days I have noticed a clunk in the driver side front end, seemed to sound metallic in nature. Out for a drive today and the clunk was getting a lot worse, every crack in the road or washboard down some dirt roads made it sound like I was about to lose a strut or something.
Got...
I havenāt ran them myself but I heard Wildpeaks are great in lots of rain.
Iām on my 3rd set of Nokian Outposts (nAT) and they have been awesome! Rain, snow, and anything off road.
Ran them in BC, AB, and ON
I like the look and I need them for Yakima paddle board holder. Certainly an increase in wind noise with speed.
you have a very sweet ride so it will be hard to go wrong! My vote is keep them.
As other said there are 2 bolts you can loosen and keep the plate in place, remove the other 4 and slide it over/off.
I personally found it faster to remove all 6 and drop the plate and reinstall, thatās just me though.
I went with Krown for a couple years and switched to fluid film. Both seem to work great and my Tacoma had no rust after 6 years. Doing the same with my 4R, fresh FF when I picked it up in June and itāll get another coat before winter. Northwest Ontario for reference.
