These are such good points from both sides, and I really appreciate the advice and insight. My fears are always going to be that the carrier will not hold and snap at the hitch after some nasty pot hole. Handling didn't seem any different with the weight; no light feeling in the front. I will continue to relate my experiences with this carrier over time.

Update: I put one bike on (the Honda) then started my 4runner and turned off all the back up and parking assist things I could. When I got home I just unloaded it and took the carrier off then started my 4runner back up and turned everything back on and it worked fine.
As far as the weight and trusting the carrier I think it will be fine. That bike weighs about 250 full of gas. I measured the sag with the carrier and one bike on and my 4runner dropped about 3/4 of an inch. I felt no difference in control but I also do drive more mellow with the bike on.
