I have a question that I hope someone may have an answer. June 24 I put my deposit down on a Limited. I should at his time, note that I am in Canada. Anyway , at the time the sales guy told me the wait for delivery was 4-6 months and possibly longe. it really didn’t matter to me because I was in the process of putting my house onto the market and planned to use sale proceeds to pay for the vehicle, so I was fine with waiting..
Well the house sold and I decided to call the dealer for a delivery update and the response received (via a return voice message) was ”your order is in the pipeline but does not yet show allocated”. Can anyone tell me what that means or is it just dealer doublespeak for we have no idea..
Thank you in advance.

Given that my order is basically stock, hopefully, I won’t have to wait too long.
Gas Limited in Windchill Pearl with Portobello leather interior. I have seen allot of 5G Limiteds driving in my area over the years so given the build/allocation you’ve outlined, I may be okay.
Note: it wasn’t until I joined this forum that I found out that the Limited in the USA came standard with 2 rows with option for third, whereas in Canada it is only available in 3 rows. My wife and I have no kids and the third row I’m forced to pay for will always be folded down.

This is what I find the most frustrating about Toyota's allocation/distribution system. They might make exactly what I want, but if they've determined it won't be a big seller in my region, they will never ship one to me even though I've put money down at the dealer. Meanwhile, there's 10 of them on a lot 1000mi away, any one of which could have been rerouted to my dealer before it left Japan.

that isnt exactly true. its a limitation of your dealer not wanting to put in a allocation reserve request to meet your needs.

toyota will fulfill any allocation request and usually regional ports will also fulfill them (albeit with minor changes to required options).

on our 23 tundra, i only wanted automatic boards, but my regional port required that to get those i needed to add AVS and HUD which i didnt want. they were exclusive requirements for my region. i was ok with it, but the funny part, in 2024 tundra, they detached the HUD and Auto boards from the AVS package. go figure.

anyway, i have put in allocation reserve request for many vehicles, and not once has my dealer balked at what i wanted even though it was never close to what they normally put in for vehicles.

but it does help that i have bought like 15+ toyota's from them so we have a unique relationship. and they have no issue doing the same for someone walking off the street, but there is conditions the dealer will put up if you go that route.

in my case i still had to put down $1000 non refundable deposit (null if not fulfilled within 4 months) and that i may have to wait for a long time for it to arrive (our 23 tundra took 10 months, and this 25 4R is going to be 10 months also)

Who's you dealer? I tried 7 of them.
lol im way up in middle of ND. they do invoice if you do allocation reserve requests, but if you buy off the lot you pay msrp. also they dont do crazy markups or addons. what you see on the sticker is what you pay.

the only thing i see they may make a bigger profit is usually the lift kits and bling add ons but those are far an few. i think ive only seen 1 tundra with a 3in lift kit and bling wheels in like 3-5 yrs.

the dealer south of me about 106 miles only does MSRP regardless, the one in fargo i would stay away from, they do ADM.

you just have to find a good dealer willing to work with you not for the dealers best interest. my dealer makes money from volume and quarterly kickbacks from units sold.

they figured out they make more money from toyota than trying to nickel and dime every customer.
