Did they coat inside the frame through the access holes?

Yes. I believe that’s the standard practice when you get their under coatings.Did they coat inside the frame through the access holes?
No problem. Main thing is that you do something. Whether that’s CryoMode or linex ultimately it’s preventative maintenance. I think the difference in cost comes down to the prep work involved. CryoMode will remove the wheels and skid plates to get into every nook and cranny. They spray the ceramic coating inside and out of the frame. It’s as extensive as it gets and part of what you pay for is peace of mind. End of January is nearing and February tends to be the most severe. After this winter I will put the 4runner on the lift and take some photos of the undercarriage. Will post those pics on this forum to follow up along with some shots to demonstrate how the hydrophobicity is holding up.@Formidable Thank you for this thread post! I am a recent new 4Runner owner and was looking into undercoating in WA State and came across this thread! I actually reached out to this shop, and they told me about you haha!
How is this holding up so far?
Still really happy with it?
They quoted me $1800 whereas I got a quote from LineX for $450 plus tax. Of course, it's a completely different process, quality, and service. It's such a massive price difference I wonder if it's worth it.
The sad part is Toyota knows this is an issue. There was a class action lawsuit a decade or so ago and a massive recall (where Toyota replaced the frames). Wife’s 2015 Acura MDX and now 2021 MDX both have zero rust issues driving through the same salted winter crap. Even the undercarriage of my 2021 Durango hellcat is fine. Why Toyota doesn’t beef up the undercarriage protection particularly on their off-road lines is beyond me. Especially at this price point.I appreciate the reply and looking forward to the follow up pics! Yeah, I could not imagine dealing with rust on the frame for the price of these 4Runners.
