Yes I can custom tune any of the Toyota Accesports. Let me know if you want my to send you some details on the process.
I’m concerned about voiding my warranty. I just received my Cobb access port. What’s the process to restore to factory and can they tell I’ve made program changes possibly affecting my warranty.

This is correct. Stage 0 is still a stock calibration but the Accessport is installed, so the ecu image is not 100% stock. This is from my customer guide:
UNINSTALL (FOR DEALER SERVICE)
The CAN bypass harness is not required for uninstall.

To return the vehicle to stock:

  1. Plug the Accessport into the OBD port
  2. Select Uninstall
  3. Follow on-screen prompts
The ECU and TCU will be restored to factory calibration and the Accessport will unpair from the vehicle.

REINSTALL AFTER DEALER VISIT
If the dealer updates the ECU or TCU:

  1. Perform the full initial install procedure again
  2. The CAN bypass harness is required
  3. Select your custom CAMTuning map when prompted

I do not have a video on the 4Runner, but these images from the Cobb install page (https://cobbtuning.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/PRS/pages/4141940776/Toyota+Bypass+Harness+Installation) are very clear. I have some photos from a customer 4Runner I did recently, but they're not better than these ones. I feel the 4Runner is easier than the Tacoma because the termination block on the Tacoma is a lot harder to get to than this connection.

Cobb recommends hooking up a 10A-20A 12V battery charger to the vehicle's 12V battery to ensure the vehicle has auxiliary power when the Accessport is uploading the new map to the ECU (and avoid draining the battery which would interrupt the map upload and brick the ECU). Does anyone who has done Cobb Accessport tuning know if a 10A 12V charger is sufficient to maintain the battery charge for the non-hybrid and hybrid during the 15-20 minutes required for initial map upload?

You'll be fine without a charger. Just turn off lights and the climate control.

Cobb's Web site shows a performance chart based on dyno testing of the IForce Max (hybrid) stock vs the Cobb Stage 1 tuned. The chart seems to show their tested stock peak horsepower (approximately 297 hp) of the IForce Max is less than Toyota's stated peak horsepower of 326 hp and the stock peak torque is approximately 405 lb ft which different than Toyota's stated peak torque of 465 lb ft. Cobb's performance chart seems to show with their Stage 1 upgrade and tuning for and use with 93 octane gas will only achieve peak horsepower of approximately 325 hp with peak torque of approximately 448 lb ft (which is about 1 hp less and 17 lb ft of torque less than what Toyota states for their stock performance). Really??!! That's disappointing!

Is Toyota artificially inflating or falsely stating the performance of the IForce Max hybrid or does Cobb's dyno testing results have errors or is it different than the Toyota's testing method (maybe not apples-to-apples comparison)? Just trying to make sense of the data and what's true or correct. Kind of crazy and ridiculous if spending $785 (excluding sales tax) for the Cobb Stage 1 Tuning Package (Accessport tuner + drop-in high flow air filter) only gets you closer to what Toyota advertises or states for its stock IForce Max hybrid for peak horsepower and peak torque, not more than it.

More info and clarity from anyone in the community who has more insight or expertise about it is welcomed.

No, they're not lying. Toyota (and the rest of the manufacturers) obtains those numbers in entirely different process than COBB does. Toyota tests the engine (with the hybrid components in the case of the i-FORCE MAX) on an engine dyno with the accessories required to operate (net vs. gross). COBB places the entire vehicle on a chassis dyno and test the output at the wheels.

Correct. I was going to respond the same. Parasitic drivetrain losses reduce whp and wtq. Manufacturers use crank hp and us in the aftermarket use whp because removing an engine for testing isn’t practical.

Thanks @josiahg52 & @CAMTuning for the explanation about the two different dyno test methods and why the manufacturer's and aftermarket's performance test data differ! Makes sense. Glad to know that the Cobb Stage 1 tuning will improve the performance beyond stock, not bring performance to par with Toyota's stated stock performance 😆 .

I read somewhere in another thread that someone else also had the same question about the differing horsepower and torque performance data. Hopefully that person sees both of your posts in this thread.
